Foam cleaning in the food industry: alkaline, acid and disinfectant
Foam stays on walls, machinery and vertical surfaces for as long as the product needs to act. Eleven products to apply with foam spraying equipment, with their dosage and temperature exactly as stated in the technical data sheet.

Open surfaces: what CIP does not clean
Tanks and pipes are cleaned by circulation (CIP). Floors, walls, belts, tables and machinery are open surfaces, and there foam is the usual method: it is sprayed on, left to act for a few minutes and rinsed off with pressurised water.
The sequence is the same as in any food-industry cleaning: an alkaline foam for grease and protein, a periodic acid foam for limescale and alkaline residues, and disinfection with a registered product. For biofilm there are enzymatic detergents. The alkaline products in this range must not be used on aluminium; the Acid Foam acids do not attack aluminium or stainless steel, according to their data sheet.
Which foam for each step
Alkaline foam
Grease and protein
- Gras Foam — 2–6% at 20–60 °C; cutting rooms and meat plants
- Gras Foam Pro — 2–6%; baked-on grease
- Neutro Foam — neutral, 1–5%; also a foaming additive
Acid foam
Limescale and alkaline residues
- Acid Foam — 2–5% at 20–60 °C
- Acid Foam Pro — concentrated, 2–5% at 20–60 °C
Foam disinfection
With registration number
- Bacter Clor — chlorinated alkaline, 2–5%, 5–15 min
- Bacter Alcalino — 1% 5 min (bactericide); 5% 15 min (and virucide)
Biofilm
Enzymatic
- Enzi Foam — 3–6% at 40–55 °C
- Enzi Foam Pro — concentrated, 1–3% at 40–55 °C
- Enzim Pro — enzyme additive, 0.2%
- Insta Check Pro — detects biofilm in 1 minute
For tanks, pipes and heat exchangers, see the CIP cleaning guide.

| Neutro Foam | 5.5 | 1–5% (additive 0.5–2%) | All types of surfaces in the food industry |
| Acid Foam | 2.2 | 2–5% | 20–60 °C; does not attack aluminium or stainless steel |
| Acid Foam Pro | 2.0 | 2–5% | 20–60 °C; concentrated; does not attack aluminium or stainless steel |

| Bacter Alcalino | 11.8 | 1% / 5% | 5 min bactericide; 15 min bactericide and virucide · reg. 19-20/90-06281-HA |
| Enzi Foam | 8.3 | 3–6% | 40–55 °C; prevention and removal of biofilms |
| Enzi Foam Pro | 8.3 | 1–3% | 40–55 °C; concentrated |
| Enzim Pro | 5.8 | 0.2% with Enzi Foam | Enzyme additive |
| Insta Check Pro | 5.2 | Spray and wait 1 min | Effervescence = biofilm present |
Rinse with pressurised water after each foam, as the data sheets indicate. Acid and chlorinated products must never be mixed.
Who this range is for

Frequently asked questions about foam cleaning
Why clean with foam?
Because foam clings to walls, machinery and vertical surfaces and extends the product's contact time. It is sprayed with foam equipment, left to act for a few minutes and rinsed off with pressurised water.
Which alkaline foam should I use for grease?
Gras Foam, at 2 to 6% at 20–60 °C, indicated in its data sheet for heavily greased floors, walls and surfaces in cutting rooms and meat plants. For baked-on grease, Gras Foam Pro. Neither of them on aluminium.
How often is an acid foam needed?
When limescale deposits from hard water or residues from alkaline cleaning appear. Acid Foam and Acid Foam Pro are used at 2–5% at 20–60 °C and do not attack aluminium or stainless steel.
Which disinfectant is applied as foam?
Bacter Clor (reg. no. 18-20-06676-HA), at 2–5% for 5–15 minutes, and Bacter Alcalino (reg. no. 19-20/90-06281-HA), at 1% for 5 minutes as a bactericide or at 5% for 15 minutes as a bactericide and virucide. It is rinsed off with pressurised water.
How is biofilm removed?
With enzymatic detergents: Enzi Foam at 3–6% or Enzi Foam Pro at 1–3%, at 40–55 °C, on their own or with the Enzim Pro additive. To check, Insta Check Pro: if it effervesces when sprayed, biofilm is present.
Do you supply the food industry and distributors?
Yes, in 20–25 kg packs and 1,000–1,200 kg containers depending on the product. See the distribution programme.
How do you clean your plant?
Tell us which surfaces you clean, what soiling you have, whether there is aluminium and what foam equipment you use: we will propose the protocol with product, dosage and factory price.
