Acid descaler for emptied pools: hydrochloric acid with non-ionic surfactants

Desincpool is an acidic cleaner formulated to remove cement, lime and efflorescence residues, particularly useful for cleaning swimming pools before filling. It comes as a transparent brown liquid containing hydrochloric acid and 5 % non-ionic surfactants, with a pH (1%) of 1.7 ± 0.5 and a density at 20 ºC of 1.07 ± 0.010 g/mL. It is applied manually at a dose of 25% in water, spreading it over the surface and then rinsing with plenty of water. Contact with aluminium, natural stone and acid-sensitive materials must be avoided, and it is not suitable for liner pools.

Main applications

  • Season opening in outdoor pools: removal of calcareous residues and stains accumulated after winterisation.

  • Occasional maintenance of white mosaic tiles: removes limescale stains and efflorescence that compromise the commercial image in hotels and resorts.

Recommended sectors

  • Hotel pools — season opening and maintenance of the visual appearance of white mosaic tiles.
  • Residents' associations — annual opening operation after winterisation.
  • Municipal pools — refurbishment after long shutdowns or maintenance tenders.
  • Water parks — deep annual cleaning of multiple basins.

Indicative instructions for use

01
Consult the safety data sheet (SDS) before any handling. Mandatory PPE: acid-resistant gloves, protective goggles, work clothing and, in enclosed areas, a mask with an acid-gas filter.
02
Empty and previously brushed basin. Remove solid residues and organic matter before applying the chemical product.
03
Dilution: 25% product in water (1 part Desincpool + 3 parts water). Prepare only the quantity needed for the surface to be treated, do not store diluted mixtures.
04
Application: spread evenly over the surface with an acid-resistant bristle brush. Do not use on liner pools, aluminium, natural stone or acid-sensitive materials.
05
Rinsing: rinse with plenty of water to remove all acidic residue before filling. Check the pH of the final rinse water with a test strip — it should be close to neutral before proceeding to fill the pool.

The dilutions and specific warnings are available in the product's technical data sheet.
