Main applications
- Trucks and heavy transport vehicles: bodywork with accumulated road dirt in transport and logistics fleets.
- Fleets of cars and coaches: corporate fleet wash centres with treated water installations.
- Industrial and construction machinery: industrial dirt with grease and dust on metal bodywork elements.
- Service stations with wash bays: car wash installations with high-pressure systems and osmotic water.
The performance of an alkaline powder detergent depends largely on the hardness of the water in which it is dissolved. In installations that work with osmotic water —soft water, with a low concentration of calcium and magnesium— Box car is especially indicated for osmotic water.
The key variable: the water hardness of your installation
Before choosing between Box car and Box car+, you need to know the hardness of the installation's mains water. A detergent formulated for osmotic water does not perform the same in hard water, and vice versa.
| Specification | Box car | Box car+ |
|---|---|---|
| Recommended water | Osmotic water | Hard water (high limescale concentration) |
| Choose this one if... | Your installation uses osmotic water | Your mains water is hard or untreated |
How do you know if your water is hard? Hardness is measured in French degrees (°fH). In Spain, areas such as Madrid, Valencia, Murcia or the Canary Islands have water of medium-high hardness. Northern areas such as Galicia, Asturias or the Basque Country have softer water. If your installation has a reverse osmosis unit, use Box car. If you work with untreated mains water in a hard-water area, use Box car+.

Directions for use and dosage
Box car is dosed via a powder dispenser according to the instructions in the technical data sheet. The working concentration varies according to the level of dirt on the vehicle and the flow rate of the high-pressure equipment.
- Dose via a powder dispenser, with a nozzle output of 4 to 8 g/l.
- Apply with a pressure washer onto the surface of the bodywork.
- Leave to act briefly and rinse with pressurised water.
- For heavy dirt, a second pass can be applied at a higher concentration.
For which vehicles and fleets
- Trucks and heavy transport vehicles — bodywork with accumulated road dirt.
- Fleets of light vehicles and cars — periodic washing in installations with osmotic water.
- Coaches and passenger vehicles — large surfaces that require efficient dosing.
- Industrial and construction machinery — industrial dirt with grease and dust on bodywork elements.
Other products for high-pressure washing
Box car is part of Instaquim's range for high-pressure washing. If your mains water is hard, the correct option is Box car+, formulated specifically to overcome the interference of hard-water minerals. For bodywork that requires a solvent-free formulation, see Carclean.
