Refrigeration circuits for legionella treatment

Biocidal treatment of water in cooling circuits as part of the legionella control programmes applied by industry, hotels, sports centres and maintenance companies. The category has a single reference: a biocidal disinfectant for industrial water with two dosing phases, a shock dose at the start of treatment, when slime is present, and a maintenance phase with a reduced dose once the system is under control.

Bacter 200 is added at 0.2 to 0.4 % every 7 days at the start of treatment, when slime is present; once the treatment has taken effect, the dose is reduced to between 0.1 and 0.2 % weekly in continuous use. Dosing should be planned together with the analytical monitoring of the circuit and the documentary records required by the maintenance programme.
