Description

Detersec is a professional rinse aid with drying and antifoaming function, designed for use during the rinse cycle of automatic dishwashers in environments with medium-hardness water. It works by reducing the surface tension of water on dishes, glassware and cutlery, allowing water droplets to slide off and preventing mineral deposits from forming when they evaporate. The integrated antifoam ensures free water circulation within the equipment, improving rinse uniformity cycle after cycle.

Developed and manufactured by Detervic / Instaquim, Detersec is intended for medium-hardness water. The recommended use concentration is 0.1 to 0.5 g/l and the optimum application temperature is between 65 and 80 °C.

Benefits for professional use

  • Water hardness adjustment — formulated for medium mineralisation water.
  • Prevents limescale deposits — prevents the formation of scale deposits on dishes and glassware.
  • High-efficiency drying agents — for an excellent shine and total transparency.
  • 2-in-1 product — the combination of drying and antifoaming agent in a single reference simplifies stock management and consumption control in facilities with multiple units.
  • No residual odours or flavours — does not leave residual odours or flavours that could contaminate the washed items.

Primary applications

  • Restaurants and cafés: service glassware, dishes and cutlery for direct service to diners; a film-free finish is critical for the perception of hygiene at the table and service presentation.
  • Hotels and banquets: large volumes of dishes in restaurant and event service, as well as guest room glassware processed in hood dishwashers with continuous cycles.
  • Hospitals and healthcare centres: patient dishes with continuous high-temperature cycles; the absence of visible residue and compatibility with high rinse temperatures are standard requirements in these environments.
  • Catering and central kitchens: conveyor dishwashers with high throughput; automatic dosing ensures consistency across each cycle regardless of operator and reduces dosing error margin.

Recommended sectors

  • HoReCa: hotels, restaurants, cafés — hood and conveyor dishwashers with high throughput; a limescale-free finish is critical for table presentation and hygiene perception.
  • Healthcare and geriatric care — patient dishes processed in continuous cycles; absence of residue and compatibility with high rinse temperatures.
  • Catering and collective services — central kitchens and dining facilities with multiple units running simultaneously; automatic dosing ensures consistency and consumption control.

Indicative instructions for use

01
Verify the water hardness of the installation to confirm it falls within the medium-hardness range for which Detersec is formulated. If the data is not available, measure with an analysis kit before adjusting the dosage.
02
Connect the product to the automatic dosing system of the dishwasher, usually located in the rinse aid reservoir of the unit.
03
Adjust the dose within the recommended range of 0.1 to 0.5 g/l according to observed results on glassware and dishes.
04
Verify that the rinse temperature is between 65 and 80 °C, the optimum range for the product's drying and antifoaming action.
05
Periodically review the result on dishes and glassware and the level of deposits on spray arms, adjusting the dosage if limescale marks or rainbow patterns are observed.

Specific dilutions, contact times and recommendations are available in the technical sheet of the product.

What is a rinse aid and how does it work?

A rinse aid is automatically dispensed during the final rinse phase of the dishwasher. Its technical function is to reduce the surface tension of the water: instead of clinging in droplets on plates, glasses and cutlery, the water spreads into a uniform film and sheets off the surface (sheeting effect). As the water drains away before drying, the dissolved minerals —mainly limescale— are prevented from crystallising on the dishes, eliminating spots, water marks and whitish films, especially visible on glassware. The result is faster drying, with no manual wiping, and a bright, streak-free finish. The optimal dose depends on water hardness: the harder the water, the higher the dose needed to offset the lime content.
