How to tell when your low season starts
There is no universal date. In a tourist area it usually arrives when the visitors leave; in a residential neighbourhood it can be exactly the opposite, when the locals go away on holiday. Look at your cycle data: when machine occupancy drops and stays down, it is time to start this agenda.
Deep maintenance checklist
- ✓A clean of every washer with Machine Clean with the drum empty, following the technical data sheet and rinsing thoroughly afterwards.
- ✓Inspection of door seals, dispenser drawers and filters.
- ✓Replacement of worn peristaltic pump tubes.
- ✓Calibration of every pump, with the result recorded.
- ✓Check of suction lances and connections: no leaks, no air and clearly labelled.
- ✓Cleaning of dryer lint filters and ducts.
- ✓Storeroom inventory: opened containers, condition of labels and products you no longer use.
How to reduce stock without running short
Cutting stock frees up space and cash, but without risking a weekend with no product. With delivery in 24–48 hours on the Spanish mainland you can work with less active stock, provided you order before you reach the last drum. Use this period to agree the supply plan for the next high season with your account manager, with dates, rather than waiting until demand has already picked up.
Ideas to attract customers in the quiet months
- Promotions for bulky items (duvets, blankets, sofa covers) before the cold weather arrives.
- Agreements with local businesses that generate laundry all year round, such as hairdressers, gyms or restaurants.
- Prepaid bundles or loyalty cards for regular customers.
- Improving signs, instructions and cleanliness of the shop while it is quiet.
Frequently asked questions
Can I do the maintenance myself?
The basic tasks, yes: cleaning with Machine Clean, filters and seals. Calibration and tube replacement are best done after some training; Instaquim offers technical visits and on-site training, and the low season is the ideal time to schedule them.
What do I do with product I will not use for months?
Keep it in its original, tightly closed container, away from heat and under the conditions stated in its safety data sheet. Do not decant it into other containers to save space.
Is this a good time to change product or supplier?
Yes, probably the most suitable one. With fewer customers you can bring in the new product, recalibrate the pumps calmly, update your folder of technical data sheets and SDS and explain the changes to your staff before demand returns. Doing it in the middle of high season greatly increases the risk of mistakes and complaints.

Schedule technical maintenance visits and training during your quieter period.
